As for the story, Gitana de Magica is a Veil Walker, a species of humanoid like creatures that have the Sight, the ability to read the minds of others, meld their souls to other living beings to read their spirits, sense each other's locations, and can receive visions of the past, present, and future. She wears the mask over her face to hide her location to her fellow Walkers as well as to keep herself from connecting with other minds to focus on her work. Magic for Veil Walkers is a taboo and those who are born with it are eventually shunned from their community or are kept under strict rules to make sure they never use it. However, with Gitana, at a young age, she accidentally killed her parents when bandits raided their house, Gitana using her magic to keep the bandits back but killed her parents by accident. Her Elders banished her and she has been traveling as a nomad ever since. She was attacked by bandits again when she was found bleeding on the side of the road when Emperor Navarro found her.To repay him for his kindness, Gitana has sworn an oath to Navarro, his kingdom, and his people with her magical talents to ensure she would provide them the best potions, enchantments, and other magical knowledge to give them more days in the future...to pay for what she did to her family too.
